In Sparrow Advanced Preferences, you can customize how Sparrow behaves in a lot of way:
Hotkeys allow you to define the shortcut you want to create a new message and to show/hide Sparrow.
My personal hotkeys are ⌥-⌘-↑ to show/hide Sparrow and ⌥-⌘-N to create a new message. This shortcuts work at all time everywhere on your Mac meaning that you can create a new message using your shortcut while browsing the web, writing a Pages document or watching a movie.
Sparrow also supports Gmail Shortcuts. Ticking the box in the Preferences will turn them on. You can find a list of it here.
Turning on the ‘Always Reply all’ could also simplify your work flow.
If the Quick Reply doesn’t please you. Ticking the box will disable it. Clicking the reply button in the conversation view will always open a new window for you to reply in rather than the quick reply.
