In Sparrow Advanced Preferences, you can customize how Sparrow behaves in a lot of way:
- Hotkeys allow you to define the shortcut you want to create a new message and to show/hide Sparrow.
- My personal hotkeys are ⌥-⌘-↑ to show/hide Sparrow and ⌥-⌘-N to create a new message. This shortcuts work at all time everywhere on your Mac meaning that you can create a new message using your shortcut while browsing the web, writing a Pages document or watching a movie.
- Sparrow also supports Gmail Shortcuts. Ticking the box in the Preferences will turn them on. You can find a list of it here.
- Turning on the ‘Always Reply all’ could also simplify your work flow.
- If the Quick Reply doesn’t please you. Ticking the box will disable it. Clicking the reply button in the conversation view will always open a new window for you to reply in rather than the quick reply.
