Sparrow lets you open links in the background.
All you have to do is press ⌘ when clicking a link.
To open and close the right pane in Sparrow 1.2, you can:
- Use ⇧-⌘-T
- Use the Menu > Window > Message Panel
- Tap → to open and ← to close when a message is selected
- Use a lateral three-finger swipe from left to right to open
Start hidden at login
To launch Sparrow when starting up your Mac, do the following:
In Sparrow Preferences, make sure that you have ticked the ‘Start Sparrow at login’ option.
And in your System Preferences > Account > Log In Items, tick the Sparrow corresponding box as seen below:
QuickLook on attachments
You can preview any attachments by selecting it and pressing ‘Space’.
Sparrow allows you to do this while reading your mail and also while composing it. Attach any file in a new mail, select the attachment and press ‘Space’ to quickly verify this is the document you wanted to send.
Show/Hide Cc & Bcc fields
Click the grey triangle on the left of the ‘To’ field to toggle the Cc/Bcc fields. Sparrow will remember your choice and will keep the fields hidden or shown depending on what you chose.
Setting up an alias - Send as…
Sparrow lets you send mail from your main mail account with other mail addresses.
To set up an Alias in Sparrow:
- Go to Preferences and select the Alias tab
- Make sure that your alias is certified
- Click the ‘+’ button
- Enter your alias address
You can set an alias as the default mail for your main account by clicking the ‘Make default’ button.
